OK, so not every plate procurement opportunity involves just two or three plates…much to the dismay of the Plate Princess, a recent buy makes that point!…we were contacted by a young man who had inherited his father’s incredible collection of 2,500 passenger, motorcycle, and specialty plates…as the collection was in the basement (where else!) of his residential home, we hatched a GAP plan to garner this tin treasure…it involved an early morning one-way flight to Washington, DC, a rental of a heavy duty SUV, four Advil to relieve back pain from extracting the basement bonanza, loading up the ‘tin tank’, and heading south on a leisurely 14 hour, overnight drive!…it will take a little while to organize and load all of the plates onto the GAP website, but stay tuned!…most likely we’ll need the sales proceeds to finance the impending divorce!!
