The Gap and the Plate Princess are back on the road — and this time, we headed to one of the biggest and best events in the collector car world: the annual Hershey Classic Car Show and Flea Market in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

There’s something magical about Hershey in early autumn. The air was crisp, the coffee was hot, and the rows upon rows of gleaming chrome and colorful license plates stretched as far as the eye could see. Collectors, restorers, and enthusiasts from across the country came together for a weekend of treasure hunting, storytelling, and shared passion.

As always, I was on the lookout for great plates — and Hershey didn’t disappoint. From rare pre-state porcelains to vintage vanity tags, the variety was incredible. It’s not just about buying or selling; it’s about connecting with others who understand that every old license plate has a story, a history, and a place in Americana.

Of course, no trip to Hershey would be complete without my favorite travel companion — my very own “Hershey kiss.” Forget the Playboy centerfolds — when you’re surrounded by antique cars, original tin, and good company, you’ve already found the sweetest thing around.

If you’ve never been to the Hershey Classic, put it on your list for next year. Whether you’re a diehard collector or just someone who appreciates a good piece of nostalgia, this show is a slice of American automotive history worth experiencing.
