My wife was about to celebrate her XX birthday last week, and as always I fretted over what to gift the woman who has everything, including me!…and lo and behold, the license plate fairy had Paul Wallace, ALPCA 9486, step in and ask if I’d be interested in a complete Florida County run of plates from 1965…bear with me on this folks…as he was flipping through the 70 or so plates, what did he see but the extremely illusive 1965 Florida 56-Hamilton County plate for which I have been tirelessly searching for the past 20 years or so (check out my ads in the PLATES magazine!)…soooo, now back to my wife’s birthday present (you see where this is going!)….Paul very graciously let me negotiate a wee bit before we  closed the deal…I received the plates and after gift wrapping the treasure  and offering my wife a birthday glass of wine, the gift presentation was made and was captured for all posterity, as you can see!…imagine a few things with me if you will: 1. how does a 1965 Florida license plate from a very small population county in Florida make it all the way to Boulder, Colorado 60 years later?…2. how does the acquisition and presentation of said plate help insure a happy marriage…3. how do I ever repay the license plate fairy for enabling me to complete a license plate collection I’ve been working on for so long…now, how about that 1941 Yukon sample plate?!
